3rd Civilization
“The Artifact” awaits its reapperence.



Description
A fantasy automation factory game, players play as the last member of a civilization, tasked to recreate “The Artifact”, an object that represents the peak of the vanished civilization’s technology. Players place machines, collect, combine, refine, and transport items to form effective factories, to craft items that are more and more powerful and complex.
This project is built with a small team, and lots of chaos in our workflow and task distribution due to sad events in life, I must say I am a bit disappointed with the outcome, but still, we managed to produce a demo and learned a lot of new skills during development.

My works
- Asset import pipeline: Create and initialize GameObject from excel sheet to game scene ONE-CLICK. Including information such as Sprite, item tier, recepie to craft, etc.
- Art: Basiclly all art in this game, from concept to final. Including concept art, background, sprites, UI, Lighting, VFX, HUD.
- Programming: I programmed the entire UI system in this game, and helped with the item combination workflow programming.
- UI Design: I designed UI that includes showing recipe on load, tooltip on hover to show item desription hinting game lore.
- Item Tree: I designed the item combination tree in this game, using 5 basic items to branch off into a wide variety of items of different uses, then combines back into 1 item: the Artifact.
- Shader: I created shaders that creates highlight outlines on selected items, and alternate how lighting looks on some VFX.
